NavPress is pleased to announce that Dr. John Herring has accepted the position of president of Student Life Publishing.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity of investing in the lives of future disciple-makers,” Herring says. “The potential for Kingdom impact through the next generation of disciples and NavPress through Student Life Bible Study is incredible. Couple that with the ongoing influence of Life Bible Study for adults, and the possibilities for discipling are enormous.”

Herring is the Executive Pastor for NorthPark Baptist Church in Trussville, AL, and director of Church Life Strategies, a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and coaching for churches and parachurch organizations. Prior to starting Church Life Strategies, he served as the Pastor for Discipleship and Administration for the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham where he served for 12 years.

Herring holds a B.A. from Samford University, a M.A. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Educational Ministries from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Stacy, live in Birmingham, AL.
