Greg Garrett


Greg Garrett is the author of the critically acclaimed novels Free Bird and Cycling, the memoir Crossing Myself, and nonfiction books including The Gospel according to Hollywood, Holy Superheroes! and (with Chris Seay) The Gospel Reloaded: Exploring Spirituality and Faith in The Matrix. A major writer for The Voice scripture project, Greg has also written essays, articles, reviews, and lessons for many print and web publications, among them Poets & Writers, Christianity Today, Relevant, Ethics Daily, Faithworks, and The Thoughtful Christian. He blogs for The Christian Century at theotherjesus.com. An award-winning professor of English at Baylor University and Writer in Residence at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, he is also a lay preacher at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas.
