Jim White

Jim and his wife, Jeri, are currently ministering to East Asian graduate students at the University of Oklahoma in Norman as well as visiting and counseling with graduates who have located in cities across the U.S. and Asia. The Whites also counsel and speak at conferences as time allows.

Jim and Jeri's first field assignment was in 1960 at the University of Nebraska. From there they went to Washington, D.C., where they began student work at the University of Maryland in 1962. Later Jim became East Coast Regional Director for The Navigators until 1968, when he and Jeri opened The Navigators' student work at the University of East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.

In 1973 Jim and Jeri returned to Colorado Springs where Jim served as Staff Counselor to the Navigator staff around the U.S. and overseas.

In 1978 Jim assumed the responsibility of Western Regional Director for the U.S. Navigators, locating their home and the regional headquarters in Norman, Oklahoma. This was followed by a short two and one-half year assignment from 1984 to 1986 as Director of Pastoral Care and also helping to develop the Missions Department for The Navigators at Glen Eyrie.

After much prayer in 1986 Jim and Jeri felt called of God to move to Norman, OK where they opened a grass-roots ministry with East Asian graduate students at the University of Oklahoma. They have continued this international ministry to the present time.

Jim and Jeri have three children and four grandchildren. Rod and Kellie White and their two sons, Daniel and Nathan, live in Nairobi, Kenya where they disciple leaders in government and business. Valerie and her husband, Jim McCall (who works in commercial real estate) and their two children, Kelcie and Trey, also live in Norman. Jim and Jeri's youngest son, Jimmy, is in Heaven with Jesus, having died in a motorcycle accident October 5, 1990.
