once in a lifetime book

When I first read this book, my heart was pricked, and my conscience stirred. Before reading it I had always thought that someday, if I lived long enough, I could be a wise, godly older Christian. But now I see that the beautiful fruit of a Christian life only comes as I make the steadfast commitment to pursue knowing Him, through the means He has established. This book clearly lays out that the disciplines are not legalism, only love for Christ lived out. I recommend this book to every dear friend, and particularly to those involved in one-on-one dicipleship.
