You can shed sinful habits and increasingly take on the character of Christ through the transformation of the spirit.
Description: Experience significant spiritual growth, lose sinful habits, and learn how to increasingly take on the character of Christ. This book explains the common misunderstandings about human nature and the discipleship process. It also outlines the general pattern of personal spiritual transformation––not as a formula, but as a systematic process that we have the responsibility to undertake as intentional apprentices of Jesus.

Challenging read
I just finished this excellent book. I am now going to read it again with pen and notebook in hand, and at a much slower pace. The first time through was hard going, there is so much to absorb and understand! This is a deep book with a lot of concepts that should be thought through before going to the next section - the concepts build upon each other. I found myself re-reading pages several times in order to understand the author's intent. However, it can be a life changing - and convicting - experience if complimented with prayer and scripture reading; it has positively influenced my spiritual life. I can see where this would be good to read and study with a few other like minded believers. I highly recommend this book for you who are willing to dig deep within your heart and examine your spiritual condition.

A Must Read... Twice!
My business partner gave this to me last year for Christmas. We read it together over the course of a couple months, meeting once a week to review what we learned in each chapter.
It was not an easy read. Not because the text was insurmountable, but because it was so rich. Like good cheesecake, no matter how good it is, one can only have so much at a sitting.
The questions at the end of each chapter are helpful and provoke thoughtful dialog for a small group. After we read the book, my wife started a book group with 3 other women that are now almost finished with it. They have found it as rewarding as we did.
Now, I'm looking for a place to buy some copies for other friends this Christmas.
