A Sacred Sorrow by Michael Card

By investigating the lives of Job, David, Jeremiah, and Jesus, Michael Card reveals how lament can be a cathartic completion of our worship and love of God.

Description: God desires for us to pour out our hearts to Him, whether in joy or pain. But many of us don't feel right expressing our anger, frustration, and sadness in prayer.

From Job to David to Christ, men and women of the Bible understood the importance of pouring one's heart out to the Father. Examine their stories and expand your definition of worship.

Strongly Recommended

By nature I read books quickly. I am a fast reader and "comprehender". This is not a quick read. It is to be read slowly, quietly, with great care and is particularly useful for someone in the midst of any kind of trauma. Michael Card gives much new insight to ponder and digest. I'm only in the 2nd section, beginning of David and have already experienced the beginning of healing to my particular trauma. It rings true with the words of someone who has "been there" and is additionally an excellent scholar. For me it came at exactly the right time. Thank you Michael Card for writing this book

This book gives hope for all

I was very pleased with not only the content and teaching about how to use sorrow and suffering as worship to our Lord, but also the excellent scholarship of Michael in using multiple sources to give a complete picture of suffering. I highly recommend this book as a tool to growing deeper in our intimacy with Jesus Christ.
