EXCELLENT rendition of Scripture

The Message has truly helped to revive my quiet times with the Lord. I've always been a reader of pretty literal versions (NASB, KJV, NKJV, ESV, HCSB, and NIV). I came to a point where my reading time became quite stale. This version certainly helped breath fresh air into my quiet times. Not to mention, I love the humility behind this particular version. It seems all new versions get tons of criticism, but God uses them! I LOVE this new addition of the Message with the chapter divisions. I also like the padded hardback, reminiscent of Bibles in the past. Thanks, NavPress and Eugene Peterson, for allowing the Holy Spirit to use you to further His Word.

The Message - Not a Bible

The Message seems to be fascinating a lot of people, but like the original Living Bible - paraphrased, it should have paraphrase under the title. Mr. Peterson needs to realize his responsibility to do this. (In fact, The Message is a very loose version, not even a good paraphrase.) I have studied and compared Bible translations for 37 years, and want to warn Christendom to be careful to use an accurate translation, such as the NASB 1995, when they do serious Bible study.

It's like jesus and all the peoples of the Bible were there with you!

I just have to tell you about this Bible! You just have to get a copy for yourself, it's just that great! When I read mine, it's like I was right there-in the very center of things, hearing God's Holy Word, being with Jesus and really, I mean REALLY, understanding it! You can almost hear the sounds and see the sights of that day in time when you read! Everything comes to life! You see the people running out of the temple when Jesus chased them out with a whip and over turned tables! You can see the animals running and the money rolling about! This is the very best Bible to use for reading that I have ever come accross, I highly recommend it! Try it for yourself and see, then feel free to email me and share you feeling about it! I'll be waiting to hear from you! Don't forget to leave a review of your own so others will see how great it is! God Bless you!
