Message AlligatorBrown/Tan Numbered...
I just received my copy of the NAVPRESS: MESSAGE Alligator-Brown/Tan Numbered Bible paraphrased. First, the book is absolutely beautiful with it's cover of leather and presentation pages using shadings to depict subtopics. I will be using my copy in personal study of my notes from original Hebrew/Greek manuscript studies and notations I have made over the years with other translations such as King James, New King James, Aplified, American Standard Bible 1901, NASB 1973, 1975 & 1995, Holman, NIV and others. Thank you for such a find product to work from! The only thing I could ask, is for a version with larger type face font for I am blind (with limited vision lights, shades distorted colors) that would be even more helpful for me. Finally - A Publisher Who Gets It
I just received my Numbered Edition [Alligator Brown/Tan Bonded Leather] yesterday. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened this Bible. This is BY FAR the most beautiful Bible I have ever laid eyes on (and I have seen quite a number of them and own quite a few!). The cover is the most unique looking cover. I have to say I was getting tired of black Bibles all the time and was looking for a change. This brown on brown is beautiful and the lettering on the spine is exquisite. And this is only the outside! My only recommendation would be to try and make this Bible in genuine leather (this one is bonded) so the cover could be a little softer. But this is a minor observance.
Then I opened it up and I have to say, I wanted to cry. FINALLY a Bible that 'spoke' to me before I even read a word (though I've read The Message before). The cream color pages are so delightful and brings to mind ancient parchments. The gold gilding is there as well. The single column format is the way a Bible should be laid out - easier to read and no cluttering references. The references that do appear in the text are well 'tucked' and very unobtrusive. The font is a perfect style and size for extended reading (which the Message tends to elicit because of it's wonderful wording).
I just can't say enough about the perfection of this Bible!

Great Improvement
The type is easy to read. The papaer is much easier on the eyes and the wieght and feel are good. I was using the Remix before because of the numbering system. I like the new design becasue it is not as "bulky" and my Remix.
