Make it an app plz!
This would be perfect in app form! I use the Olive Tree Bible Reader on my iPhone which has several well known reading plans that integrate with it. I was so hoping THIS plan would be in app form for 2012! It's not too late... :0) // Blessings!!!

Daily food For spiritual living
Yes. The bible is The spiritual food, until read and apply, it is just a Book, but when read and obey to apply, it will be a armed force spiritually in Daily living. I believe.

super Bible Reading Plan
I have used this plan as my main bible reading plan for over 35 years. I tell others to use it for a good model to read through the bible. Would recommend it for all who want a closer walk with God. I would like to see a mobile app with tracking for smartphones.

A great plan... it does need to go digital though! An Android app or just integration with YouVersion would be so helpful.

Plan is available for free
I've been using this reading plan for several years. This has been a great plan for me. Most folks that I've shared it never really started using it though...to each his own....
Here NavPress is selling a package of 25 printed reading plans, which is probably exactly what some folks are looking for. As another option, with minimal internet searching (e.g. try "Disciple Journal Bible Reading Plan"), you can find .pdf versions that you can download for free, even from navpress's own website.

We have been using this plan as a bulletin insert to encourage our church to read through God's word. Many have enjoyed the fresh format. Sorry that it is no longer offered in an editable free format.

Awesome Bible Reading Plan!!!!
My life has been radically changed by committing to this bible reading plan. I know in my heart God wants us all wrapped in His word…because when we are ….its where He meets with us one on one to love, guide, and minister to us as only He can do. If you want to see your life radically changed commit to meeting with Him everyday and watch Him open Himself up to you in a ways you would have never imagined. Our church is banding together to buy enough of these so that every single member of our congregation will have this tool….We are expecting great things to happen. God left us His amazing Word…so it’s a no brainer that it’s His will for us to be committed to be in it everyday. You may be saying to yourself right now “I can’t do it… I don’t have enough time as it is”. And you are right …you can not do it….without Him. I promise you…if you will commit to it…just a little each day. He will place a desire in your heart and it will become exciting to you…you will look forward to opening your bible each day. I promise. Just do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Bible Reading Plan
I agree with everyone else. This is the best read-through-the-Bible plan out there. I recommend it to everyone. It's the only one I have been able to successfully follow in order to read the entire Bible in one year. I have done so for the past 10 years. I,too, am puzzled why a single copy can no longer be available for free especially to those of us who faithfully suscribed to DJ. We used to be able to make up to 100 copies for local church distribution with no charge or copyright violation. I have made copies for years to give out to Bible studies I have participated in. I will be very careful to keep a master, unmarked copy so I can continue making my own annual copy. Shame on Navpress for not making single copies available for free online!

$5.99 for 4 pages?
I received the Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan annually with my subscription. I am glad that I have reused one for several years of Bible reading and have another on reserve. I am puzzled at the price for this folded sheet of card stock with the Bible reading plan. $5.99 seems very pricey to me. I'll continue to mark and high light what I have rather than purchase more although I'd thought to share this plan with friends and new seekers. There are other free Bible reading programs out there. I love everything but the price.

Great plan
This an excellent Bible reading plan. It has helped me through the Bible about 7 times now. You can take it in one year or 4 years depending on your pace. I do two columns each year and make it last two years. My only complaint is that Navpress is trying to sell it. Shame on you! It is just a piece of paper with a plan to get more people though the Word. It should be given out free to as many as possible.

Echo: It Should Be FREE
I agree with RF - the Bible reading plan should continue to be offered for free. No new development is necessary, which is why I marvel at your charging for something that 1) used to be free, and 2) isn't costing you anything to improve. I understand charging for new resources and possibly to improve the website and content. But I'm very disappointed in this change. Offering a free Bible reading plan is a simple "loss-leader" that could attract people to the Navpress website and result in their buying other publications. Charging for it is a good way to reduce the number of people using it. That's a shame, because it's a great plan.

the free study link doesn't work
I have a Message of Hope small Bible. On the back it says come to website "for your free on-line study guide'. When I tried the link given at the end of the reviews, it says it doesn't work, and I don't see any free studies anywhere else. I'm sad, but hopeful that just missed the spot. Love The Message version!!

Free plans without "DO NOT COPY"
I've used Navigators bible reading plans for many years and highly commend them. For those desiring bible plans that can be downloaded and printed without "DO NOT COPY" watermarks, you can find many alternate reading plans (including whole bible plans) at Zondervan's site (http://www.zondervan.com/Cultures/en-US/Product/Bible/Plans.htm?QueryStringSite=Zondervan)
Navpress has a right to charge a _modest_ amount for a valuable resource it has developed. However, I agree with some reviewers that a ministry should, if it is fiscally able, provide and encourage free copy of its most basic resources. I believe a wise business model have other products effectively subsidize free availability of a select few products, even if only in electronic form.
Thank you, Navpress, for providing such helpful resources.

Still available free and for purchase!
I purchased several of each type of the Bible Reading plans to give out at our church and I think they are well worth their price.
If you need to view it or print one for yourself, I just did that too!
I forgot to bring my cop to work so I went to the http://www.navpress.com/Assets/Word/Magazines/DJ/dj-brp.docfollowing link:
(Cut and paste) and it works better than the adobe download.

It Should be Free
I love my old DJ Reading plan and soon I'll need a new one but I find out that it is no longer free. It's a great resource but I want to be able to re-print them and encourage others too. I have at least one 6th grader wanting one and I was planning on giving them to the kids that go to my highschool's christian club. It should go back to being free so that it can encourage others to get into the word more. I think that it should just be a free blessing to believers and non-believers alike!

A Great Resource
I've used this reading plan for many years, I don't know of any better available. The price listed for a 25-pack is a very reasonable cost if you require hard copies for a group of people. If you are looking for a personal copy, see the link in the earlier comments below, you can still download a copy for free. Thank you DJ for creating the one resource that has gotten me to read the entire Bible 7 times now. The best parts, for me, are the great mix of Old and New Testament readings, as well as having a few 'spare' days built in for those days I miss my readings.

Why not a free PDF?
I do believe it would be a great gift to Christ's church for you to return to the days when the Bible Reading Plan was available as a free PDF. I've used it for years, was encouraged by DJ to make my own copies to distribute to others (back in the pre-internet days when it was an insert in DJ).

Credit where credit is due
It may not have crossed the minds of the complainers that some people would print a copy of this Bible reading plan, make a thousand copies, and sell them for a buck each. Having that "do not copy" notice makes it clear that this is something which is for individual use, protecting the people who laid it out from others profiteering off their work.
The text is not obtrusive and does not obscure any of the references. Nice bit of layout. Thanks for making it available!

the words of the mouth show the heart
...continued the real disappointment is that most the these people must not have read much because where is matt. 18 Go to your brother if he sins against you or gal 6 restore your brother. or whats the big deal we pay for anything we care about if you really care about the discipleship jounal you'll continue to pay. you know when i first started following christ i took this guy i wanted to follow christ and he told me to go home buy a bible with my own money and pray and ask god to give me a revaltion or understanding. and did just give me a bible i know this isn't for everyone. but he taught right there if i really cared about it i would be willing to pay a price. this is no diffrent from the price we are called to pay to follow him. the point is does it belong to you by law no. so if you take something that does not belong to you thats what one of the ten commandments sin! and how many donations have you sent to support this website it is not free. i read one of these review stateding that they are just americans who are like greedy we its the other way around everyone seems the have the right just because they are this is not true. 1.how many times have you prayed for this ministry be for you blasted them 2. how many times have you used this comment box to encourage them before you blasted them 3. why don't you get out your bible and your computer and make your new and give it out on your website for free for millions of people and pay for it all your self ...what that will cost you... thats the real issue we all seem at times just want everything free...........just said for us to lay down our lives for one another right no greater love than this.. and its not base on if the other person loves in return so where is the love.

Free copy still available
I have a BRP copy tattered from years of use. I finally decided to see if it was available on the net. I was saddened to read the comments of those who were offended at having to pay for a copy of this plan. However, I too, have often jumped to such false conclusions. As of today, it is still available at the link posted in the 1/29/07 and 11/25/06 reviews. It does NOT have a "Do Not Copy" watermark.

Thank you for the Bible reading plan
I too was looking for a plan and surprised that it cost money. Then I took some time to find out why and learned that it was for a set of 25. Totally understandable. I have to say that it is, honestly, frightening to read these comments and see how many people believe it is their right to get something for free, and then writing rude comments because they didn't take half a minute to figure out what was going on. Imagine feeling violated because you cannot get something you did absolutely nothing for, for free.
following the instruction of Revolage I went to:
http://www.navpress.com/Assets/PDF/Magazines/DJ/BRPlan.pdf
And found the plan everyone is complaining about, for free.
Thank You DJ!

Reading plan confusion
I am reading conflicting things - is there a copy of the traditional reading plan that I can print without the intrusive "Do Not Copy" or not?
If there is - thanks - how do I do it? If not, I can't imagine a stranger public relations move by DJ. If I have that sitting in my Bible and every day see "Do Not Copy" it will be a negative thought every day about your product. DJ will have gone from a positive to negative, might want to re-think that marketing strategy.

glad to see I can get an unaltered copy free
I came to this website in late November to download a new plan as I tend to read ahead and was disappointed to find it for sale. I clicked on the sample link to find that it had "Do not copy" across the pages. I felt like using it would imply that I was cheating someone by using it and would not be a very good witness to anyone who saw it. I just got on again and found that it is now available without the watermark. Thank you! This is a great resource and should be availabe to anyone who wants to download it. I certainly agree that if I want bulk copies mailed to me that I should have to pay for it. I have used this plan for several years now and it has greatly enhanced the pleasure I get from reading and my understanding of the whole picture of the Bible.

Quick to listen, slow to speak
Folks,
As others have written, the FREE version of this plan IS STILL AVAILABLE in PDF format above. The bulk version (25 copies) of high quality color printed copies is the version that is available for purchase. The fact that NavPress is charging for the bulk version is completely understandable and appropriate. They are not making money on this, merely covering their printing and S&H costs, which all of us as believers should be OVERJOYED at assisting them with since they provide us with a wonderful tool.
Might I suggest that we learn a lesson from this to put James 1:19 into practice - "be quick to listen, slow to speak" (and slow to react!), which is so typical of us Christians at times. Doug in Virginia Beach

Get A Grip
This is an awsome tool. It certainly isn't free for a company to print and mail these to you. The cost at seven dollars only comes to 28 cents each. You can still download and print a personal copy free. Just because you are Christians doesn' mean other Christians should give you everything gratis.

The Great American Greed Factor
I have used the Bible Reading Plan for many years. What a shock and disappointment to see I must now purchase it to receive it. I have been ministering in Asia for sometime and it makes me so sad that so many ministry based organizations in the states, having the tools through technology to minister world wide, have become so money making focus they have lost their first love. I know companies have to make a profit to survive, but when millions and millions of our brothers and sisters world wide, who have access to the internet could be blessed by free downloads, why are so many companies so greedy? It is time for the American Christian community to rise up and say enough is enough. When I can buy books printed in Asia for less than one US dollar, and that same book exported to the states cost me 15 dollars, something is seriously wrong.

You can print a free copy
You can print a copy for free; just click on the Bible reading plan sample link and then print it. If you know someone who would also like a copy, refer them to this link and they can obtain their own copy. I think alot of people got upset very quickly when they saw that there was a charge, but that's for 25 copies. You CAN get your own copy for free which is what most people wanted anyway.

Pay Up Kid!
As a youth minister, I am always challenging kids to read through the Bible. I have always used this program to help the kids accomplish it. Now I find out that I must pay? Do I charge a kid who would has so many obstacles placed in his way to read God's word by the world? NO! I just see this as another obstacle to helping see people grow in their relationship with Christ.

Hard to believe
I'm a missionary in Thailand and found it hard to believe that I must purchase a Bible reading plan. I waited over 30 minutes to get on line just to find that I must buy the same plan that I received free so many years ago. I was disappointed too. It's not like I can go to a christian store around the corner or receive a package in the mail in three days. Our resources are limited. I think NavPress should take a look at all the reviews and make some changes. Thanks.

So Disappointed
If I am an individual who wants one copy for personal use, I now have to pay for 25 copies?
If I download and print an individual copy for my personal use I would think that it does not cost The Navigators anything. It does not appear to me as if the format changes from year to year except to change to the current year. How much can it cost for an IT / IS person to do that?

Please reconsider
For years your Bible Reading Schedule has been free. As a pastor I love to copy this and give this to my congregation. I'm puzzled by this change. Would you consider offering this free of charge in the future? It is an excellent tool to help people move toward becoming consistent Bible readers. Please reconsider this. Thanks again for all the NavPress is doing. You are definitely making a difference for the kingdom of God.

exhortation from the Word
Dear NavPress,
I have always loved your Bible Reading Plans; by the end of the year, mine is always tattered and full of check marks......by His grace and power alone! So, I too, like other posters noted here, are disappointed to find that one can no longer print off this valuable tool.....for personal or group use....without the "DO NOT COPY" written quite obstructively across each page. For this tool, the Bible Reading Plans, the choice should still be to make it free. Free for all. Print as many as you need! May it be used and read by those He is drawing to Himself, and may His Word be deeply implanted in their hearts! Freely given; freely receive. (a little out of context, I realize, but mildly applicable) Our call in ministry is to go and make disciples; this is a foundational tool in the process of planting people in the Word. I implore you to make it free again.

Please explain why!
Great item, but I am also disappointed that it is now for sale. I have an old worn out copy I downloaded in the past for free. I came to get a new copy, and found this. I'm trying to understand why there is now a charge for a pack of this resource (which is a really good resource) and why copying a single free print out is now prohibited ("DO NOT COPY"). NavPress, please shed some light on this. I don't mind paying for things and understand that ministry does cost money, but I don't get this.

Great Resource...For a Price!!!
I was a teenager when I first recieved this printout. Now about 10 years later I got online so I could have a new one so I could begin my journey through the Bible once again to strengthen my relationship with God. I was extremely disappointed to find that it's for sale! This is a great resource, but to have to pay for it I don't think is right. Being in ministry also I know that things cost money, but having a guideline for people to read the Bible shouldn't be one of them. Won't be purchasing it.

Still disappointing
I've read the many comments regarding the cost of the reading plans... I have to add to this. I understand that this cost is not for individual acquired pdf copies, but for mass quantities... still this serves as a disturbance! I have to ask, does it make it better to sell a reading plan at mass quantities? Most certainly not! Any way you put it, you're charging people for something that will aide in growing in the knowledge of the word of God. His word is truly precious, and to charge those who could be spiritually hungry for something that could make reading easier for them is disheartening.

Disappointed
The bible reading plan is GREAT. I went through it three years ago when I first became a believer. I have since given it to several to use in their own journey through the scriptures. I've shared with many how I used the DJ plan to read through the bible in a year. But when I needed to get another copy to use for myself, I found that the item is no longer free for distribution. This is disappointing to me. Charging for subscriptions, books, magazines, even newsletters perhaps, as they are an ongoing expense requiring manpower, I can understand. But this resource is the same as it was when I first downloaded it two years, only now it has a nice green backsplash on the page. To charge for distribution of this item is absurd in my opinion.

Free or for sale?
I think someone else posted this, but to reiterate: You do not need to pay for a single copy, just a pack of 25 copies. If you click on Free Preview, you can see the plans in a pdf file. You can print them, but there is a note that says "DO NOT COPY". This means that the document is for your use, not for you to copy for your entire church, group, Sunday School class, etc.
I agree that this is an excellent tool for helping you to read the entire Bible in a year. There is another version that aids you to read the entire Bible in a year, just in a different sequence. Try them both to see what works best for you!

Bible Reading Plan
I read some of the reviews and realized people were quite upset that there was now a charge for this valuable tool. However, if you go to 'free preview', you can still print off a free copy, with a note appearing that you shouldn't make copies. If I am understanding this correctly, you can use it for personal use, but not for mass distribution.

Payment required?
DJ's Bible reading plan is an outstanding resource which I've used for years and have recommended to many. Needing a new printout, I was disappointed and puzzled to find that it's now "for sale" only. Being an administrator in ministry myself, I understand the need to raise funds. One needs to be careful, however, about the perceptions aroused by charging a fee for a two-page resource that contains no original writing and is simply a guide to help people read the Bible. It does not reflect well on your organization. A poor decision, in my mind.

get yourself into the Word
i have been using this plan since 1998, and have read through the entire Bible each year for 9 years. i took one year off in 2001, thinking that i would read through various books of the Bible, but i was never as consistent as when i was using this plan. its 25 readings per month is very convenient, and reading through the entire Bible in a year (4 different places each day) helped me to recognize the continuity of the Scriptures and blessed me greatly!

excellent plan
I have used this plan each year since 2000. It is the easist way to keep track and read through the bible each year. I now sometimes read ahead, or from only one column for a few days...always checking the little box and completing a section by the end of the month. You will develop your own style of using this after a year or two. It was free in the past....but it is so worth the price now being charged. Follow this plan and your life will be changed! I encourage everyone to purchase and use it!!!

no more free lunch
This is an excellent resource for structuring spiritual growth. It is truly shameful, however, that this once-free resource now costs $7! Must mean hard-times for DJ. I believe I will discontinue my subscription after this year. I used to direct numerous people to this reading plan. I will now direct them elsewhere.

Discipleship Journal Is Awsome!
My pastor gave this to me last year and I started to read the bible everyday. Sometimes I fell behind but I continued to read. As I read I felt closer to God and began to notice that I wasn't fighting as much. I think it also gave me the knowledge to help others and their problems with memory verses. Yes, sometimes this is time consuming but if you truely want to grow in Christ, Buy This!
