Revolutionized my life
I was introduced to the TMS when I became a Christian through the Navigators. 40 years on, I continue to find scripture memory a tremendous help to my spiritual life.

It lasts a Lifetime!
I received Christ on Okinawa back in 1954, and then ran into Bob Boardman, the Navigator "quarterback" of their Asian team at that time. Bob introduced us to the TMS, and we were daily challenging each other on those verses. Bob also challenged us to find 1 Bible verse as our "Life's Guiding Verse,"(mine was Romans 13:10, and 1 more as my "Life's challenge verse," which I chose Gal. 2:20. Mind you I had just received my Thompson Chain Reference Bible, so to find 1 specific verse out of the whole Bible each week for those 2 weeks was a daunting task! The point is that the TMS provided me with a solid foundation for my faith since Bob gave us a solid foundation for our whole lives. After 57 years I still count it a great blessing from Christ, and still have my original packet! Nothing can ever replace the knowledge of His Word when going through the many severe trials of this life. What I learned then was still active and gave me that firm foundation when I learned, at the age of 70 years + 1day that I was an adopted child from my 95 year-old mother! My adoption in Christ settled that matter within 20 seconds, and then later I was to find out that I was the product of a brutal criminal rape on one of my mother's sister, a secret kept from me for all that time! It is what I now call "a joyful speedbump in life." May each one of you find the same joy, peace, and power in your journeys!

Great
Used in u.s. navy to memorize 850 verses word perfect with references. Resulted in great spiritual growth. Quickening of mind. Went on to become a surgeon and medical missionary. Still use this system to memorize and retain scripture. One of the greatest things I have done. To God be the glory.

Best Tool
This is the best tool for the serious Bible student. When I first asked Jesus into my heart I was discipled by Navigators and eventually took the 2:7 class when it was first introduced around 1980. This was an essential part of my walk with the Lord. I still use it today and because of it some of my friends have dubbed me "Sister Concordance."

Great Resource for Learning God's Word
If your New Year's resolution is to memorize scripture, the Topical Memory System from the Navigators is a great resource. The kit comes with a workbook designed to help you learn methods to memorize Bible verses, a vinyl verse holder, and 60 verse cards in eight different translations.
This is a great resource for Christians of all ages. The verses and holder are a wonderful tool to help those wanting to commit portions of God's word to memory. Like any memory based system, it requires the individual to be committed to investing the time necessary to learn and remember. If you've got the desire, and the self-discipline, the Topical Memory system will be of great benefit! I highly recommend it.
The Navigator's also offer the VerseMinder Topical Memory app. I have it on my iPod touch and have really enjoyed it. It's great for when you're waiting in line or just passing the time. It will quiz you on the verses you have learned using a basic "fill in the blank" process. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to invest time in learning God's word. The app retails for around $4.
