Great Bible for us Youth!

This is a great bible that puts the words of Christ in terms for us teens to understand. I would recommend it 100%! Thanks for reading my review, God Bless!

A good Preaching Bible Doesn't Always have to be Literal

I grew up on the NIV, read through the NLT, became more literal and the ESV became my favorite literal version. But I often try to make the Bible relatable to my peers in High school. On my GCO website (www.GCOutreach.yolasite.com), I usually read from the ESV, but lately, I've been thinking about switching the default version to the Message Bible (I often nickname it "the Bible in slang"). And the words and idioms of the MSG convey they same ideas as the original Greek in my opinion. I don't agree with everything in it, but I think it's a great teaching choice if you teach and want to convey the same meanings but with an American perspective.

A great bible for new Christian converts

The International Children's Version(ICB) is great for little children. The English Standard Version (ESV) is great for pastors and for students of the bible and origional languages who would like to take the next step in literacy. But the Message (MSG) is great for teens and adults who aren't currently intrested in the bible. The MSG isn't the most accurate in bible versions, (it has quiet a few flaws in it), but I do like it's contemporary and sarcastic tone to it. If you get this version, it would be a good idea to parallel it with an accurate literal such as the ESV. But again if you're trying to intrigue someone you know into reading the bible, then give them the MSG, and like others have noted, they will move on to another version when they're ready. Treat this version as a commentary, not a bible, because it's not all correct. Keep in mind as you read this: God isn't sarcastic when he speaks to people, but the MSG does a better job of showing God's anger in the books of the prophets than any other version. This version was given to me by a beloved friend, and has greatly enhanced my bible study! Cordially John

Rated Top Seller for Youths

I am an internet seller of Christian Books and Bibles. We just started selling "The Message//Remix 2.0 Hypercolor in Bubble Blue-Pink-Blue-Steel Gray-Purple. They are among the fastest and most wanted Bible we have ever seen! The Bubble Blue is the favorite of our younger customers. If your child doesn't have one yet he or she should. It is very attractive so much so that I had to tell my warehouse workers to stop asking if they could have another one for their friends and family. We did give our workers a few but we had to sell some to buy more! Please do not hesitate in purchasing this Bible for your child or young adult. They will read it because it is easy to understand and very attractive.
