Message Bible
I have given the Message translation to many unchurched people who have had no experience with the Bible. It is exciting and rewarding to see them begin to understand the Bible, and start applying it to their own life. Most of them spend a great deal of time reading this translation, and they begin to ask questions and explore spiritual truths. After a season, I do lead them to a more accurate translation, and other literature to help them on the pathway to their salvation, and spiritual growth and development.

Message Bible
I have given the Message translation to many unchurched people who have had no experience with the Bible. It is exciting and rewarding to see them begin to understand the Bible, and start applying it to their own life. Most of them spend a great deal of time reading this translation.

unrecognizable as a Bible.
Although advertised as the Bible,when compared to a legitimate translation it is unrecognizable as "The Bible".

I do not recommend this product
I do not mean to offend anyone, but I do not recommend the Message Bible. It only uses the word Lord 71 times. It uses the word sex 200 times. The KJV uses lord 7970 times. It is the 14th most used word in the KJV. It changes many verses. Matthew 5:43 says, "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.” The Message version of that is, "Jesus said, 'You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.'" Jesus was not referring to the law. He was referring to the Pharisees. The Message Bible also has many New Age connotations. Song of Solomon 2:1-2 says in The Message, "I'm just a wildflower picked from the plains of Sharon, a lotus blossom from the valley pools. A lotus blossoming in a swamp of weeds-- that's my dear friend among the girls in the village."
In the KJV it says, "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among the thorns, so is my love among the daughters." Notice how The Message degrades the rose to just a common wildflower. The lotus is the most sacred symbol to New Agers. The Message Bible talks so much about sex. Consider Ezekiel 16:24, "At every major intersection you built your bold brothels and exposed your sluttish sex, spreading your legs for everyone who passed by." This is crude and profane. The Message is also a "politically correct bible" Don't you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don't care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 "Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don't qualify as citizens in God's kingdom. A number of you know from experience what I'm talking about, for not so long ago you were on that list. Since then, you've been cleaned up and given a fresh start by Jesus, our Master, our Messiah, and by our God present in us, the Spirit." It should say, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind," 1 Corinthians 9:11. This lets all the unrighteous people go.
