Great gift for any Grad or College Student

The Grad’s Guide to Choosing Well is one of the great books in this section. Graduating High School can be a tough and hard time. Not everyone is able to go to a Christian school or a school close to home. Whether it be by their own decision or not. The Grad’s Guide to Choosing Well helps guide students through these tougher times. Using Proverbs as the base of all its advice, this book offers wisdom for life on your own. This great book offers stories and hope from the bible itself. I love that there are sections dedicated to surviving in a Surviving a Sex Saturated World, Choosing Good Friends and even realizing The Value of Free Time. This book is a great buy for that person in your life who has just left High School, or is just starting College. This is also a great buy for someone already in College. I think college is that age when a lot of youngsters grow up. They mature into beautiful Women and Men of God. Sometimes it takes someone other than parents to teach their children how to be good people. Sometimes children need to hear advice from others their own age. The Grad’s Guide to Choosing Well has advice from the bible but put into a younger modern perspective. There is also a ton of advice from other Christian Teens and Young Adults. When purchasing a book for a young adult or teen in your life you should look for only what supports your values and morals, as well as offers modern advice that you agree with. Th1nk from Navpress has books aimed at exactly that. Valorie

The Grad's Guide to Time with God

The Grad's Guide to Time with God - Daily Devos for a Deeper Relationship This is a ten week study for grads. I just finished my graduate school program and thought I would give it a shot. But I didn't really like it. It is written for students who just finished high school not graduate school. I can see how this would be applicable to someone younger. I think I will pass it on to some of the high school graduates in my church. If you are a 20-something who just graduated leave this one on the shelf. One thing I really did like was the use of The Message. It is applicable to most young people. It helps prevent the reader getting lost in long scripture quotes.

A fresh daily devo for the youth

At first glance, I thought the book's snazzy graphics and busy page layout were compensating for tired run-of-the-mill devotional readings. Just another book out to hook teens into giving up enough Facebook-ing or YouTube-ing minutes to read a page a day. But I was pleasantly surprised to find I was quite wrong. The Scripture passages for reflection weren't the usual roundup of warm fuzzy verses. Verses from The Message were refreshing, in-your-face language, forcing you to see the Scriptures anew. I also enjoyed the thought-provoking questions about life and God. Lots of variety from page to page, so readers will have no problem keeping things fresh. This is perhaps the first daily devotional I've finished cover to cover. Great gift for high school grads, young adults.
