Verse Card Packs

As a Navigator 2:7 group leader for the past 35 years, I have sought to find a supplier of quality leather verse packs the same size as the NavPress vinyl verse packs. I have noted that the vinyl verse packs deteriorate, crack and tear after several years of hot Minnesota summers and frigid Minnesota winters. I have resorted to using leather business card cases which do hold up but are too large for the size of the verse cards. Recently I contacted a custom leather worker in Northern Wisconsin and asked her to make me a leather verse pack with the same dimensions as the vinyl verse pack (4 3/4" long open x 3 3/8" wide with 1 1/2" deep pockets on both sides and a 1 3/4" space between the pocket edges). She promptly sent me a prototype with which I am extremely pleased. My new verse pack will carry 12 verses in each pocket and is made out of high quality cow hide. I couldn't be more pleased. You can contact her on-line at "Oh Susanna Leather",(susrug@indianheadtel.net) with your requests.

other verse card packs

as above, btw I am in england, not forces asia. as above, there are other verse card packs containing 36 verses each, please read above, I do not have these and its critically desperate I get hold of them, if anyone has any, could you please email me and photocopy them and I will give you my address to send them to me, and I will pay for the postage. its not much troulbe and I am truly desperate, I find them so helpful. so please help me in obtaining these, navpress...if you have these, please reissue them so we may be blessed by them again, they were SO helpful for us, they WILL make money and will help ppl, so help us by republishing them, some of your staff must have them surely? I think navpress is losing its sense of purpose that it was originally founded for by not publishing these, dawson trotman would turn in his grave, get back to basics navigators, your a great organisiation but I fear are losing the way a little

Verse Packs and Cards

Dear Navs, please make leather verse holders with clear windows - one or both sides - available to us? You showed us the value of scripture memory and it would be wonderful if you would (1) make the tools (leather holders and blank cards) available to us or (2) point us to a source from which they would be available? It just doesn't make sense. We are willing to pay for them! A year or two ago, I ordered cards and holder from the Castle Book Store but they are much larger. My next best alternative is at Levenger.com: they have what they call a "Slim Wallet Writer" that holds cards similar to the size we like, and lots of cool holders for those who might prefer 3x5 cards. However, they are really proud of them.

Verse Pack

At 93 years old, Verlee Shupe has been making Naugahyde verse packs for 65 years.  She has made over 16,000 and continues to send them all over the world.  A nephew of hers found a site on the internet listing sources of verse packs and people looking for verse packs.  He sent Verlee a copy of this information.  Because she is so sold on scripture memory, she became excited about seeing that people who needed a verse pack should have one and continue to memorize scripture. She has decided to provide one FREE verse pack to anyone who will write her and ask for one.  She does not use the internet and her hearing creates a problem with phone calls but she can handle written requests.  Her verse packs are for the Navigator sized cards (1≤ in. X 2≤ in.) and have one clear pocket on the outside for the verse currently being memorized or meditated on.  If you could use a new verse pack, send your written request  to: Verlee Shupe, 1314 Lincoln Avenue, Harlan, Iowa 51537.                                                                      They are currently available in green, red, brown, and blue which are made from the closest item she can get to Naugahyde—a fabric backed vinyl.  State color preference. Please do not respond to this posting, but direct all inquiries to Verlee.

Wooden Verse Boxes

Hobby Lobby carries wooden boxes with hinged lids for only $1.99 that perfectly fit the TMS sized Navigator verse cards. You can get Hobby Lobby's 40% off coupons from their internet site and save even more money. They work great. I have four of them.

expanded vinyl holders much more durable

If these are like the thin sheet vinly holders in my original tms system from the 70's then they crack and break in a short time if often opening and closing the holder. At a Nav conference several decades ago there was some expanded vinyl cases with fabric backing, stitched together with thread, that was much more durable. Anyone know someone that makes these kinds of card holders? These also had the see-through window on the front for the current card being learned.

Promises Pack

Navigators use to put out additional packs: Promises, Knowing God, Love, God's Word, Walking in Victory, Self Respect, Growing in Faith, and Sharing Christ with Others. There were 36 verses in each pack. Great verses! Unfortunately, I lost the Promise pack. Does anyone know the verses in this pack? As most of you know, it would only take a little time to review and get back to knowing them word for word. If you could send them to ea5ytoremember@yahoo.com, I would greatly appreciate it.

Still Making Verse Packs

I'm still making these (not out of leather - see the guy below for leather ones!). Here's some info: http://halfpinthouse.wordpress.com/2008/02/01/verse-packs/

Outer Pocket

These are great, but it would sure be nice to have two outside clear plastic pockets, one on each side. Anyone who knows some of the chiefs on the Navpress board might get their ear! I've heard this from quite a few people and I've wanted it myself, so that I could memorize without changing out so often. Cheers, Rich

verse cards/packs

I am passionate about memorizing God's Word having been raised in a Christian home that valued scripture memory. In trying to pass that on to Sunday School classes and Bible studies we are involved in, we have found it helpful to provide a "starter" kit. We have found that bulk, perforated, printable business cards are perfect (found in the computer paper section of most stores), and business card holders are easily found in office supply stores in cloth, leather and vinyl. While some of them lack the clear outside window, they work well and can be purchased in leather for as little as $5. They are slightly bigger than conventional verse cards, but we actually find them easier to use. We pray this information is helpful.

verse packs

I began my scripture memory use of verse packs in 1977 and have been thru three or four and was hoping to find a couple more for the future. I've owned both the vinyl and the leather and much prefer the leather. Scripture memory has been the most influential discipline in my walk with the Lord. Relying on God's Word on a moment-by-moment basis has been made possible by this great tool. I don't know of any Christ-centered discipline which affords the believer such instant access to His thinking and heart which in turn lends itself naturally to meditation, prayer, and application. I can go for a long walk or drive and meditate on His Word with hardly a fuss. I have gotten so dependent on memorizing God's Word that I will pick up my memory verse pack before I pick up my keys or wallet whenever I leave the house. It has become highly essential for me as I have found His Word to be truly liberating. I find in His Word promises of forgiveness, guidance, comfort, joy, peace, wisdom, understanding, mercy, help, restoration, strength, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, patience, hope, love, care, concern, rescue, honor, deliverance, protection, provision, answered prayer, sustenance, rest, the list goes on and on.

Verse Packs

I too was looking to replace a leather verse pack I have been carrying for almost 40 yrs that has seen better days. Unable to find any, I purchased some leather and made one. Anyone interested email me at tdclat@swbell.net

Verse Packs

I have been looking for the leather-like verse packs with the clear window for several years. What I have is beyond repair. As I read the reviews I realize how old I must be. I still have a true leather verse pack with a small cutout window on the inside of one side for the reference. It has no stitching anymore and I have worn out several leather-like packs. All that said we (whether the organization or us, its "alumni") need to come up with a continuing supply for those who see Scripture memory as an essential part of our Christian walk. The blessing to us as young believers is that the organization gave us tools to motivate and enable our discipleship. Scripture memory and the verse pack holders and even blank cards have become to me as a nearly essential tool. Thank you, Daws!

Blank verse cards

Scripture memory has been such a blessing to me. I've worn out more vinyl verse packs than I can count. I'd like to add my name to the list wishing leather ones were carried here. Also, I don't know if they are available on this site, but I do know blank verse cards are available from FAST.

Blank cards, boxes, etc

As a British believer discipled in my early Christian years by Navigators, I agree with the other reviewers. Memorising scripture is invaluable. I miss the "tools" which made this easier, such as blank cards to add my own verses through which God spoke to me or challenged me. A higher profile is needed for scripture memory within the Navigators and the Church as a whole.

Box to Hold Verse Cards

In the UK, the some of the clear plastic boxes that "Ferrero Rocher" chocolates come in are the perfect size for storing TMS verse cards. They also have a hinged lid that keeps the dust off.

Leather Verse Holders

I, too, miss the leather verse holders. I have one, which has been stretched far beyond what it should hold, I'm afraid. But I keep adding verses that I want to keep in my purse. The TMS is such a wonderful program to get one started in memorizing, a vital part of the Christian walk. I am ever so grateful to the friend who got me started in TMS. Please, please make those verse holders in leather once more, with the see-through plastic ID area on the front. These are invaluable. Pat

Scripture Memory

I started with TMS in 1977 and continued memorizing. I have memorized verse packs from Navigators such as: Knowing God, Faith, Love, and Life Issues. I have also use the blank cards and made my own verse packs. I use to purchase the leather verse pack holders. I can't seem to find them. I would like to buy more. I also wish more verse packs were offered. I have been helping others to get started. TMS changed my life.

Posted by Pamela on 7/9/2004 5:54:00 AM

A small addition to TMS

I love the verse card holder. it sits in fromt of my kitchen sink and holds the verse I want to memorize. I need the card holder to have clear card holders on the outside of BOTH SIDES of the pockets. I may try to sew one on the one I have to see if it would work. Please inform me if you ever make this change.

blank cards too?

I have a wooden box designed to hold many TMS cards and am running out of my last batch of blank cards. I need some more. I am currently discipling three guys and using the TMS as the primary tool for branching into verse analysis bible study and writing out and memorizing their testimony. Praise the Lord for Daws and the TMS! Whatever happened to that littel green book that had no author called "How to study the bible"? It had all the different bible study inductive methods in each chapter, and a six year plan for bible study that is still my goal to complete some day.
