I have used this Bible/Remix Message,to realy open the minds that are incarcerated. They have been opened and recieving God's word like never before.They express if someone had showed them a bible in this kind of text before ,than they could understand ,that God realy loves and cares for them just as they are,and that he understands their regrets,pain,losses, loneliness . I volunteer in cty adult detention centers for6 years.Five years ago I started useing The Remix Message Bible .Thousands have testified that they know now God is real and he knows them and they have true salvation and hope forever. I love this bible in teaching others to be free on the inside .These hurting inmates say they can understand this language of a real God. I also gave this particular one to my children ,all in their 30,s.They love it!God Bless

Very useful in the right context...
It seems that too many people are treating this as an either-or situation. I believe that it is always good to have more than one translation to study for the purpose of deeper understanding. This bible is a PARAPHRASE. Petersen makes no secret of that. There is nothing wrong with that. Many people struggle with understanding the text in the bible, this is a great tool to helping them. It isn't meant to replace the kjv,niv, etc. It is best used as a study tool or an introduction for someone new to studying scripture.

What does God think?
I know that there haven't been any comments posted in about a year, but I haven't had this Bible long, and was seeing what others had to say about it. I can't believe what I am seeing here. God's people are arguing over the Bible. This translation wasn't written to take the place of any other. It was written like any other translation, to help people understand the Bible. If you don't want to read it, fine. But don't go off on those who do. If it helps them, then God is pleased. If people would spend more time reading the Bible than arguing about it, we would be a better Christian body, and would really be able to make a difference in this world.
