Would you welcome the parents of Jesus into your home? How fitting that He who would become the king of kings would arrive in such a humble way. Over the years, the word “manger” has become softer, fluffier, and more comfortable than it was. No one fluffed the straw for Jesus upon his birth, Joseph probably had to push animals out of the way before Jesus could be placed there in the manger (aka a feeding trough). Let us not forget the realness of the arrival of Christ. We want to serve a noteworthy king in all his grandeur, but often we are called to serve a poor family, that has no place to go.<\/p>\n
