But as I said earlier, the gospel is also <strong>a path we must walk along until the day we die.<\/strong> As we walk along, we learn that Jesus not only died in my place, but He also lived that perfectly righteous life in my place. That\u2019s when the good news of the gospel really becomes good news!<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text\">How, then, does this good news of the gospel help us live our daily lives in humility? For one thing, it frees us up to be honest with ourselves about our sin. <strong>We can face our sin squarely when we know that it is forgiven.<\/strong> Even when a particular sin is vile in our eyes\u2014not to mention God\u2019s eyes\u2014we can call it what it is, and thank God for His forgiveness.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1368 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.navpress.com\/sites\/thedisciplemaker\/wp-content\/uploads\/Blessing-of-Humility-1.jpg\" alt=\"Blessing of Humility\" width=\"239\" height=\"359\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text\">My personal way of doing this is to acknowledge the particular sin without any excuses, and then quote Isaiah 53:6 to myself and to God:<\/p>\n<p class=\"scrip-poetry-1-sp\">All we like sheep have gone astray;\u00a0we have turned\u2014every one\u2014to his own way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-fl-sp\">I stop at that point and say, \u201cLord, that\u2019s me in this sin.
