Failure to grasp the fullness of Unconditional Love and Unconditional Relationship are two truths that lead many Christian servants down paths leading to burnout. According to author Bill Tell, \u201cMost Christians accept, at least intellectually, the first truth\u2014that God unconditionally loves us.\u00a0 But few seem to accept the truth of our unconditional relationship with God.\u00a0 That\u2019s why for so many, the freedom Christ died for vanishes from our lives.
\nWe return to performing for God so we can meet the \u201cstandards\u201d of a conditional relationship.\u00a0 The amazing wonder that should fill our hearts about this incredible friendship turns into wondering whether we have done enough.\u00a0 The joy and laughter of freedom is gone.\u00a0 \u201cIf we have to win our way back into his affection,\u201d Brian Chapell reminds us, \u201cwe are all lost.\u201d 1-Bryan Chapell, The Promises of Grace<\/em> (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker 2001), p. 93.\u00a0 We sinful saints are loved unconditionally and held tighter than we can imagine in an unconditional relationship.\u00a0 Always.\u00a0 No matter what.\u00a0 Forever.\u201d
